Sport and leisure
There is a water park in Beroun and multiple beaches along Berounka river.

Cyclists will appreciate a network of bicycle paths, the closest one called The Footsteps of Czech Kings, leading through the picturesque canyon of Berounka River.
The location is ideal for walking, the nearest peak Děd with a spectacular lookout tower just 2 kilometers away.
Natural attractions
The land is surrounded by hills and forests, bordering the protected landscape area of Křivoklátsko, a biosphere reserve of UNESCO and a protected bird area thanks to the immense diversity of fauna and flora. There are many species of songbirds, owls and birds of prey.
The Český Kras Protected Landscape with caves and fossil deposits is located nearby.
Many waymarked hiking trails pass through the countryside (with potential destinations nearby being, for instance, Karlštejn, Svatý Jan pod Skalou, Koněprusy Caves and Tetín).
There is a bear on the coat of arms of Beroun, and you can see those gorgeous animals in a paddock on the Městské hořa hill.
History and culture
Beroun was pronounced Historic Town of the year 2009.
City sights include battlement walls and two gates (Prague and Pilsen), burgher houses, winding streets and cozy romantic corners.
Music festivals Berounské Letorosty and Talichův Beroun are regularly held here, as well as widely known pottery markets.
Social infrastructure
Various public amenities, such as shops and shopping centers, restaurants, state and private maternity hospitals, primary, secondary and art schools, hospitals, post offices, library, cinemas, museums, galleries and exhibition halls, can all be found in close vicinity.
By car you can easily reach highway D5 to Prague or Pilsen. The capital is a 20-minute drive away.
An 18-km long railway tunnel between Prague and Beroun is planned for the nearest future, which will further shorten the travel time.
